This year, those born in the Year of the Rat and Rabbit "Fan Tai Sui". My mother and I went to Jiu Cai Bao Cheng Huang Miao this afternoon. We bought the joss sticks and incense papers to pray Tai Sui Ye. When I was kneeling in front of the deity, my mother held the incense papers to “clean” my body and said some sentences in Hokkien. I asked her to teach me so I could help her when it was her turn. We did the same to my brother's clothes too since he was at work and couldn't come.

Even though Cheng Huang Miao is near our home, we took a bus down to Bugis. From Bugis, we took a bus back.

I boarded a bus which was driven by a bus captain who recognized me. He told the lady passenger who was sitting at my “usual” seat to give up that seat. She said, “She blind meh?” Hello, I am holding a white cane. Can you tell that I am blind? Maybe you need me to accidentally hit you with that cane? Haha…
Sometimes I wish that I could drive or something. Then I won’t need to talk to chefs, people who try to give me some home recipe of dishes which they feel can help me see or some pastors who feel like praying for me on the bus. Haha… Or… Maybe I need to learn to be a “real” blind person then people will stop doubting me?
